Welcome to LowKey. These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and LowKey governing your access to and use of our website (lowkey.talk), live voice/video rooms, messaging features, and language learning community.
Community Safety Agreement
LowKey is built on mutual respect, empathy, and constructive conversation. By entering any live room or group, you agree to treat fellow learners with kindness and zero tolerance for harassment, racism, hate speech, or non-consensual recordings.

01. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing, browsing, registering for an account, joining a conversation room, or using any feature of LowKey, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service, as well as our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to all provisions of these Terms, you must immediately discontinue all access to and use of our platform.
We reserve the right to modify or update these Terms at our sole discretion. We will announce significant revisions by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notifying you via email or platform announcements. Continued use of LowKey following any update constitutes full acceptance of the revised Terms.
02.Eligibility & Account Security
Age Requirement: You must be at least 13 years of age (or 16 years of age in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom) to create an account or use LowKey. If you are between 13 and 18, you represent that your legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms.
Account Integrity: You agree to provide accurate and truthful registration information. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
Single Person Ownership: Accounts may not be sold, traded, transferred, or shared. Evading a platform ban by creating secondary, temporary, or burner accounts is strictly forbidden and will result in permanent hardware, IP, and subnet termination.
03.Live Voice & Video Room Rules
LowKey provides live WebRTC audio and video rooms designed specifically for language learning, cultural exchange, and speaking practice. The following strict conditions apply to all room participants:
Strict Prohibition on Unauthorized Recordings
You are strictly prohibited from recording audio, capturing screenshots, recording video, re-streaming, or publishing conversations involving other participants without their explicit, informed, and unanimous prior consent. Violating this rule infringes on privacy laws and will lead to an immediate permanent ban.
Room Host & Moderator Authority
Room creators and designated room hosts have full discretion to mute, kick, lock, or restrict participants within their room to preserve a safe, welcoming, and productive practice atmosphere. Abuse of host powers is subject to administrative review.
04.Prohibited Activities & Zero-Tolerance Rules
To safeguard our global community of language learners, the following conduct is unequivocally forbidden across all rooms, direct messages, user profiles, and groups:
- Hate Speech & Discrimination: Promoting hatred, bigotry, violence, or slurs based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, disability, or age.
- Harassment & Bullying: Stalking, intimidating, verbally abusing, belittling, or persistently badgering any learner based on their accent, pronunciation, or speaking ability.
- Sexually Explicit Content & Nudity: Broadcasting nudity, pornography, sexual roleplay, sexual solicitations, or inappropriate behavior via audio, video, avatars, or text chat.
- Doxxing & Invasion of Privacy:Sharing another person's real-world identity, phone number, address, social media accounts, or personal details without their permission.
- Spam, Scams & Commercial Solicitation: Advertising commercial courses, promoting pyramid schemes, transmitting unsolicited promotional links, or operating automated bot accounts.
- Disruptive Audio & Trolling: Deliberately screaming, playing screeching or deafening soundboards, mic-spamming, or intentionally derailing educational conversations.
05.User Content & Intellectual Property
You retain all ownership rights in the original text, bio descriptions, topics, and profile content you submit to LowKey ("User Content").
By posting or displaying User Content on LowKey, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, and transmit such content solely for the purpose of operating, maintaining, and providing the LowKey platform. You represent and warrant that your content does not violate any third party's copyright, trademark, or intellectual property rights.
All LowKey branding, logos, software, visual styling, sound assets, and user interfaces are the proprietary property of LowKey and are protected by applicable trademark and copyright laws.
06.Moderation, Bans & Suspensions
We actively monitor platform health and investigate user reports through our automated systems and human administrative team (CoinMaster). We reserve the right, without prior notice, to:
- Issue warnings and temporary feature restrictions.
- Suspend or shadowban accounts pending investigation.
- Permanently terminate accounts found in violation of these Terms.
- Block IP addresses, device identifiers, and subnet ranges to prevent repeat abuse.
If you witness misconduct or harassment, please use the in-app "Report" feature on the offender's profile or contact safety@lowkey.talk.
07.Copyright & DMCA Takedown Policy
LowKey respects the intellectual property of others and adheres to the provisions of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512). If you believe your copyrighted material is being infringed upon the platform, please submit a written DMCA notice to our designated copyright agent at legal@lowkey.talk containing the identification of the copyrighted work, the infringing URL or profile, and your contact details.
08. Disclaimers of Warranties
Provided "As Is" and "As Available":
LOWKEY AND ITS AFFILIATES DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT LOWKEY WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE FROM VIRUSES OR HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
YOU UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT LOWKEY IS A COMMUNICATION PLATFORM CONNECTING REAL USERS WORLDWIDE. LOWKEY DOES NOT SCREEN ALL USER SPEECH IN ADVANCE AND IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONDUCT, STATEMENTS, ADVICE, OR OPINIONS OF ANY USER.
09. Limitation of Liability
Exclusion of Consequential Damages:
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL LOWKEY, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES (INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES) RESULTING FROM YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE) THE PLATFORM, OR ANY CONDUCT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE PLATFORM.
IN NO EVENT SHALL LOWKEY'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY EXCEED ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100.00 USD) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO LOWKEY IN THE PAST TWELVE MONTHS, WHICHEVER IS LESS.
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless LowKey, its founders, officers, employees, and licensors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or legal fees arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the platform, or your User Content.
11.Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms and any disputes arising out of or related to your use of LowKey shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable to general commercial internet services, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law principles.
